Hi everyone, hope you all had a nice weekend, as you have probably seen from my snaps I had my baby shower (shower) literally … . It was so fab it turned out better than I imagined. I know it may appear to be a lavish or an exspensive event with a “flower wall” but I put a lot of thought and effort into the day while being savvy at the same time I saved a lot by bringing stuff home from Spain and doing DIY on certain things. I don’t just throw money around I’m very clever and chose to cut things in order to have others. I did a lot myself with a small budget the hotel was my biggest spend so I kept my numbers small. 

I did push my self a little bit this week I had so much to do but I can rest now till baby comes. The event was Sunday in The River Lee hotel Cork. I treated my friends & family to a afternoon tea style event. I chose to do it in a hotel because it’s less mess for my mother and after deciding not to have a 30th I thought I may as well go all out for the shower. 

My colour scheme was in sync with my wedding so White Gold Ivory. I just love that colour palette and it was a no brainer it would be the theme again. 

The hotel itself was so stunning the room was over looking the river and it was so bright even though it was torrential rain outside. We had a drinks reception first in the Hub it’s a mini area that your guests can chill and eat nibbles before they go down to the room. The lads stayed there for the day and had their own “man food” & watched gaa for the Baby daddy shower as I call it. Lol 

The room that we all stayed in was georgous it was gold like my theme. I did order in chairs to match because I have slight OCD, but they really made it. The hotel made their own signature lemonade which is incredible and I added striped gold straws to incorporate the theme. I have to say the service was exceptional I highly recommend them for any party or event. I really found them to be absolutely fantastic in every way no task was too big. I think it’s the perfect venue for a small wedding ,30th,hen party or christening. The location is ideal and again the service is second to none.

Gift table 

I made up a gift table by adding two giant White ballons I got in Spain for €1 yes incomparison to €20 online  I covered these in tulle that I got in Hickeys for €10. I then added baby letters which again I brought home from Spain except the A which I got online  . Woodies dIY blew them up because it’s so hard to get anything blown up that is your own and not purchased from them . I also orderd a cool tassle decoration off Esty €12 also which made the table. I put sprinkles of gold and white hearts all over it too, sure why not lol. That was it easy and simple to recreate . €22 to do the whole table!!

Flowers 

I spoke earlier about choosing a flower wall over having a proper babyshower cake which was not going to be eaten especially after all the after tea and delicious cakes. The wall was rented from Sky Aisle Weddings and the set up was quick easy the two owners are so nice they are new to the event industry and I love to support local businesses. They do lots of styles colours for weddings, 21sts any party you could imagine. I think it’s a fab idea for a nice back drop for photos. I had flowers in gold buckets by the window  which were Blue that I got in the Euro shop in Wilton 2 for €3 and sprayed them Gold spray which I got from the car shop in Wilton €7 I then added mini flower balls that I had from my wedding hanging of the ends of the pews. I used these along the window to add more decor. The large flowers balls on the table were custom made for my shower  using real & artificial silk flowers. 

Dress 

My dress was from Click here I loved it so much. I just love lace and White is perfect for a babyshower. Size wise I got the small but I do think they are generous in size. It wouldn’t be a party unless CJ upstaged me Her dress is from Catherine MacCormac in Adare the designer is Milly, her shoes & my Shoes are both Zara .

That was pretty much it guys. I loved every minute even though I will be in bed for a week . I can now relax till baby comes in 9 weeks. Any questions just Snap me xxxx
